Storytelling is regarded as a technique of the future translators’ professional competence formation. It is pointed out that traditional techniques of foreign language and translation learning require some updating according to the students’ requests. The achievements of the national and foreign scientists in introducing of storytelling in educational process are highlighted. Storytelling actualizes the necessity of foreign language competence formation, linguistic and country studies knowledge, translation competence and general erudition.
