The article deals with the study of instrumental knowledge and instrumentalism in the context of the relationship of truth and profit. Introduction. In the introduction the author substantiates the actual character of the study, pointing to the peculiarity of the instrumental knowledge concept through its consistency with the classical (correspondent) truth theory, which allows instrumental knowledge, in contrast to instrumentalism, to be an expression of the usefulness of true knowledge. The aim and tasks. The aim of the article is to study instrumental knowledge and instrumentalism in the context of the “truth – usefulness” relations. Research methods: systematic, cultural-historical and sociocultural methodological approaches are used in their dialectical interconnection. Research results: The specificity of "instrumental knowledge" as an intellectual instrument that mediates human social activity is substantiated. The content of the concept of "instrumental knowledge" is clarified, in particular, by its contrasting with the worldview via pair "medium" and "purpose". It is shown that "instrumental knowledge" is a modern notion, because it fits perfectly the logic and tendencies of the development of post-classical science. At the same time, the rejection of objective truth is a reason of deprivation of the strategic goal of instrumentalism. Discussion. A comparative analysis of instrumental knowledge and instrumentalism was conducted on the basis of a common semantic platform – scientific knowledge values: cognitive and instrumental (V. Kellie, V. Yakovlev). Conclusion. The concept of instrumental knowledge agrees with the classical theory of truth, as its confirmation and reflection. Instrumental knowledge points to the usefulness of true knowledge. Some provisions of instrumentalism can be useful in the form of instrumental knowledge, but they can be harmful as a world-view knowledge.
В статье проведено исследование инструментального знания и инструментализма в контексте взаимосвязи истины и пользы. Обосновывается мнение, что концепция инструментального знания согласуется с классической теорией истины, является ее подтверждением и отражением. Инструментальное знание указывает на полезность истинного знания. В то же время инструментализм уже не интересует объективная истина, он, отвергая корреспондентскую теорию истины, считает, что сопоставление теории с реальностью является бесполезным, поскольку не существует независимого от теории опыта. «Инструментальное знания» является современным понятиям, оно вполне естественно вписывается в логику и тенденции развития постнеклассической науки. Некоторые положения иструментализма могут быть полезными как инструментальное знание, однако он может приносить вред как знания мировоззренческое В статті проведено дослідження інструментального знання та інструменталізму в контексті взаємозв’язку істини та користі. Концепція інструментального знання розглядається в контексті класичної теорії істини. Обгрунтовується думка, що інструментальне знання вказує на корисність істинного знання, а інструменталізм претендує на істинність користі. Визначається роль та місце понять «інструментальне знання» та «інструменталізм» у контексті логіки і тенденцій розвитку сучасної постнекласичної науки. Дається аксіологічна оцінка. |
